Within last 15 years, internet has expanded to unimaginable proportions. With the amount of information available on the Internet, books have almost lost their use. As a matter of fact, a lot of information on the net is no longer in text files but in video formats. Even big companies like Sony, are talking about intergrading televisions with internet access.

There are over 300 million videos available on the Internet today. By 2009, that number is expected to increase to one billion. Each month there are over 10 billion video streams.

So what changes does this bring to video sharing sites? Before, when 56k connection was considered fast speed, having online video sharing site did not take much work nor organization due to the limited content available and the ample time required to upload/download that content. Today, each of the video sharing sites, divides its videos into several categories. News, Entertainment, Animation, Sports, Music and Extreme, are the most popular and most widely used Categories.

Because of the large amount of content, viewers no longer have the option of browsing through a single category looking for clips. Tags and keywords are used more frequently in order to find an enjoyable video.

Websites like www.digg.com exist in order for more experienced users to share their knowledge of video clips with others. Video clips from other websites are rated by users on Digg, therefore filtering Enjoyable clips from those which hold little or no interest to others.

Websites like www.cliptasearch.com exist in order to limit the amount of time a user needs to find a video clip they enjoy. This websites focuses on friendly user interaction. It is divided into different local searches, and translated in many different languages. This allows the user to use cliptasearch to its uttermost capacity, regardless of where that user is located. Also, videos become popular on Cliptasearch because of its users. By recommending videos to others, people make that video popular. This process creates a lot more then a searchable database for videos, it creates a community. Cliptasearch searches for videos on the different websites available on the internet. Not only does this limit your search time, but you also get to choose from different types of a video you want to watch. Some examples would be: different formats, different quality, which would also mean smaller/larger size of the video file, Different angle shots, or the same video shot form a different camera.

It is expected for the video search websites to improve hand in hand with the improvement of video sharing communities.
